- RCS has been selling the Ford 5.0 cylinder head, hand ported for years. We sell a "Cylinder Head- Camshaft" Package that works great for the Ford 5.0 Mustang's. Looking for hard accelerating HP and a everyday driver, look no further. While your friends wait for the power to come on with their big port heads, you'll be spinning the tires as you pass them by.
- This dyno sheet is from a small block Ford 289, notice where the peak power was made, 7,300 rpm. When using these heads on a stroked small block Ford 347, the HP would stay the same, only the rpms at which peak power is developed will change. This is due to the engines increased displacement and not volumetric efficiency, for example, a 347cui would see peak power near 6,000 rpms instead of 7,400 rpms, but the volumetric efficiency would be lower. The peak torque of the 289 cui engine is 374 lbs, in a stroked 347 cui it would be about 400-415 lbs, this is due to the stroke change in the engine. Notice the VE in this engine, 109.2 percent for a peak, great numbers, this means that this engine is making great torque for it's size, that's because of the small port volume and high air flow rates, which equals high accelerating HP. With RCS's CNC porting, we bring the air flow rate to port volume ratio to 1.40, 216/154 =1.4 , Our ProStock Drag racing engines, that make up to 1300 + hp have a 1.34 AF to PV ratio. The higher the ratio the better.
